
Valentina is a composer of Electroacoustic music, musician and researcher in the field of Sound Studies, focusing on field recording, binaural format and decolonial practices.
She studied International Relations and Institutions of Asia and Africa, Electroacoustic Music and currently she is a PhD researcher in Music at the University of Cambridge.
She uses immersive audio and spatialisation techniques as a way to explore collective heritage and social dynamics both in urban and rural contexts. Her work has been awarded by Zeugma Collective (Italy), Tempo Reale (Firenze), CCMC2024 Tokyo (Japan), New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival 2024, ICMC2024 Seoul (Corea). She has worked with Liminaria (Benevento), Sardegna Teatro (Cagliari), Adef (Cairo), Italian Cultural Institute of Cairo, Goethe Institut of Cairo, NTS Radio, Radio Alhara, and Stegi Radio..
She participates to the activities of the electroacoustic orchestra OEOAS (Orchestra Elettroacustica Officina Arti Soniche) and has co-led two workshops in Egypt, which led to the formation of the Cairo Improvisation Orchestra.
